Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Business/Sales Development Representative (B/SDR) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and qualifying leads, making initial contact with potential customers, and scheduling meetings for the sales representatives. As a BDR, you’ll be at the forefront of driving revenue growth, working closely with marketing to identify new business opportunities and expand our customer base. You’ll be responsible for generating leads, qualifying prospects, and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers in our target market.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead generation (inbound, outbound, inside, etc).
- Qualify leads.
- Make initial contact with potential customers to introduce our services.
- Schedule sales meetings/appointments.
- Manage and update the customer relationship management (CRM) system.
- Collaborate with the stakeholders to develop and execute sales strategies.
- Write, send, present, and follow up on sales proposals and SLAs.
- Attend industry events and conferences to network and generate leads.
- Provide exceptional customer service to build strong relationships with potential and existing customers.
- Nurture relationships with key decision-makers in our target market
- Meet or exceed monthly/quarterly targets for lead generation and other sales activity.
- Social selling.
- Campaign development and execution.
- Willingness to travel for business opportunities.
Role Requirements
- Proven experience as a Business Development Representative or in a similar sales role.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Proficiency in any CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
Minimum Education Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
Software Tools
- Microsoft Office Suite power user (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.)
- Sales engagement software (e.g. Outreach, SalesLoft, etc.)
- Prospecting and lead generation tools (e.g., ZoomInfo, DiscoverOrg, etc.)
- Communication tools power user (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams, Slack, etc)
Your Advantages
- 2-3 Years of working experience in software/tech sales or any IT-related sales.
- Above-average presentation design abilities.
- Above-average understanding and use of BDR/SDR marketing.
- Above-average understanding of lead sourcing.
- Above-average understanding of sales tools.
- Own a vehicle for going to meetings and presentations.

Terms of Contract/Employment
- Base salary plus commission.
- Performance bonuses.
- Permanent employment (Subject to your probation period).
- Johannesburg-based employment.
- On tight deadlines, work may be required outside 8 – 5.
